Kick Butt at Personal Growth
By Vanessa Palencia
You can kick butt at work and home, but you can’t forget to also kick butt at personal growth. It’s in our nature as human beings to keep pushing our limits. If we didn’t experience struggles or challenges, then we wouldn’t grow. And without growth, our lives would be really boring. Personal growth doesn’t have to mean quitting your job to travel the world or moving across the country. It can be as simple as challenging yourself to try a new ice cream flavor or pick up a new hobby, but to get you started, we rounded up four new things that you can execute immediately! Don’t forget to tell us how it went for you! We can’t wait to hear from you!
1. Create a dream board
Putting your dreams and goals onto a board and seeing them everyday can help bring those visions to life. A dream board can help motivate and inspire you every day just by simply existing. It’s also a great way to bring out the creativity in you!
2. Eliminate negative people from your life
Easier said than done, I know, but it’s so important. You can’t grow with negative people weighing you down and keeping you from climbing mountains. You need to believe and stand up for yourself by stopping all these negative people from stalling you on your path to your dreams. Block them on Facebook and delete them from your contacts. Do not allow yourself to interact with them anymore. Your health and future depends on it.
3. Do what makes you happy
Have you ever been willing to try new things or push yourself further when you were in a bad mood? Chances are, you probably couldn't, which is why it's crucial to do more of what makes you happy. When you're happier, you feel more confident and willing to learn; the perfect recipe to mold yourself into the boss you are.
4. Learn a new skill
You can perfect yourself in whatever career field you've positioned yourself in, but the only way you can grow is to immerse yourself in different environments and continually step outside of your comfort zones. Imagine if Wonder Woman didn't believe in herself enough to leave Themyscira and fight the wars outside her home. She would have never discovered her true powers and destiny. Crazy, right? But what's crazier is that the same can happen to you. You may never discover your own strengths and destiny until you step out of your comfort zone, too.
