SUBMIT YOUR WORK

Polarity is an all-inclusive magazine, which is why we love publishing articles and photographs from our readers. We value differing opinions, distinctive writing styles, and diverse artistic content. We accept submissions for all of our categories.

Guidelines

For articles or pitches:

  • Keep your voice. We like to keep things fun, conversational, and personal, so no need to make it formal, unless that’s your preferred style.

  • Be thoughtful. We invite differing opinions, as long as they are respectful and don’t promote negativity.

  • Give credit where it’s due. If you refer to news events, scientific studies, videos, photos, or any literature, please cite it by proving a link or the publication information.

  • Spelling counts. As much as we like to be relaxed, readability is a must. Follow spelling and grammar rules, unless breaking them is necessary for your piece.

For photographs:

  • Keep it natural. We value honesty and positivity, please refrain from photoshopping your models into unrealistic people.

  • Keep it clean. Please avoid gratuitous shots and nudity, we promote admiration of the body, not objectification.

Submissions

For articles:

All articles should be emailed to contact.polaritymag@gmail.com in .doc or .docx format. Once received, your article will be reviewed by one of our editors. We will send you an email confirming submission, and will get back to you within two weeks if the piece is accepted. From there, one of our editors will work with you to get your piece ready for publishing!

  1. The subject of your email will read “Article Submission:________________”

  2. Fill in the blank with the category you think your article should go under.

  3. In the body of your email, please include the following:
    • Two sentences about yourself, to be published at the bottom of your article
    • A brief summary of your piece.
    • A brief explanation about why your piece fits under the category you chose.

For photographs:

All photographs should be emailed to contact.polaritymag@gmail.com. Once received, your photograph will be reviewed by our lead photographer. We will send you an email confirming submission, and will get back to you within two weeks if it is accepted. From there, your photograph will be placed alongside an article that it matches.

  1. The subject of your email will read “Photo/Portfolio Submission.”

  2. In the body of your email, please include the following:
  • A brief description of your aesthetic.
  • Your name or photography business name.
  • The year your photo was taken.
